We Know You'll Go When He Says Move

"We know you'll go when He says move."
Sometimes a sentence finds you at exactly the right moment.
Those words were written inside a card gifted alongside a Bible I received before camp, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them. Not because they make me feel fearless, but because they make me pause.
Do people really see that in me? Do I?
The funny thing about obedience is that, from the outside, it can look brave. It can look confident. It can look like someone who never hesitates. But that's rarely what it feels like from the inside.
Most of the time, following Jesus feels like standing at the edge of something unknown. It feels like wondering if I heard Him correctly. It feels like taking one step while wishing He'd reveal the next ten. It feels like praying, "Lord, I trust You," while quietly hoping He'll choose a route that feels a little safer.
I've realized something over the years: obedience isn't the absence of fear.
It's choosing to move anyway.
Every significant "yes" I've given God has carried a little uncertainty with it. Ministry. Motherhood. Speaking opportunities. New responsibilities. New seasons. None of them came with a detailed roadmap. They came with an invitation to trust.
Sometimes I wish God worked differently.
I'd love a five-year plan. A spreadsheet. A guarantee that everything will work out exactly as I imagined.
Instead, He usually offers something much smaller. The next step.
That's how He has always worked.
Abraham left home without knowing where he was going. Peter stepped onto water without knowing how long he'd stand. Esther walked into the king's court without knowing the outcome. The disciples left their nets before they knew where following Jesus would lead. God rarely hands out the whole picture. He simply says, "Come."
As I head into another week of camp, I find myself carrying more than clothes, notebooks, and sunscreen. I'm carrying this reminder tucked inside the pages of a Bible: "We know you'll go when He says move."
What a beautiful thing for someone to speak over another person's life. Not because it assumes perfection. Not because it assumes confidence. But because it points to a heart that wants to keep saying yes.
That's the kind of faith I want.
Not a faith that never trembles. A faith that keeps walking even when it does.
Because there will always be reasons to stay where it's comfortable. There will always be questions left unanswered. There will always be risks attached to obedience.
But I've learned that God's faithfulness has never depended on my certainty. It has only ever required my willingness.
Maybe that's where you are today. Maybe you know God is nudging you toward something—a conversation, a calling, forgiveness, serving, surrender, healing—and you're waiting until you feel completely ready.
You may be waiting a long time but He calls the willing.
And maybe today He's whispering the same invitation He's always whispered: "Move."
One faithful step. One obedient yes. One small act of trust at a time.
Who knows? Maybe one day someone will look at your life and say,
"We knew you'd go when He said move."
