Still Becoming, Still Saying Yes

Trusting God in the in-between of calling and confidence
There are moments in life that don’t arrive with fireworks…they arrive quietly—almost gently—and yet somehow shift everything.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to speak at She Leads Church, a space that equips and encourages women in ministry to lead with confidence and calling. Around the same time, I was nominated for The National Society of Leadership and Success, an honor that recognizes leadership and growth.
Even writing that still feels a little surreal.
Not because I don’t believe God opens doors…but because I’m deeply aware of the spaces no one sees.
The becoming.
The stretching.
The quiet faithfulness that happens long before anything is ever recognized.
But if I’m honest—this season feels different.
For a long time, I thought growth would feel like constant movement.
Like always reaching, always striving, always becoming something more.
And in many ways, I still am becoming.
But I’m also learning how to be.
To be present.
To be rooted.
To be content in the exact place God has me—without rushing ahead to the next thing.
Because for the first time in a long time, I don’t feel like I’m chasing growth…I feel grounded in it.
And maybe that’s what real growth looks like.
Not urgency, but steadiness.
Not striving, but trust.
Not constantly asking “what’s next?” but learning to fully live in what’s now.
I keep coming back to the image of being rooted—like a tree planted by water.
Not frantic.
Not trying to prove anything.
Just steady. Nourished. Secure.
Growing, yes—but also deeply established.
So when opportunities like this come—to speak, to lead, to be recognized—I don’t receive them as proof that I’ve arrived.
And I don’t receive them as pressure to become more.
I receive them as invitations.
Invitations to stay rooted.
To lead from a place of peace, not pressure.
To trust that I don’t have to force growth—God is already doing that work.
Because the truth is…I am still becoming.
But I am no longer restless in it.
I am learning to be content in the middle of the process.
To trust that where I am is not a placeholder—it’s purposeful.
And maybe that’s the invitation for you, too:
You don’t have to rush your becoming.
You don’t have to strive to prove your worth.
You don’t have to feel behind to be exactly where God wants you.
You can be rooted… and still growing.
You can be content… and still called forward.
You can say yes… without losing peace.
So I’m saying yes. From a place that feels steady, not striving.
Grounded, not grasping.
Still becoming. Still rooted. Still saying yes. 🌿✨
P.S. Thank you to my people for cheering me on, encouraging me, and reminding me who I am when I forget.
P.P.S. If you’ve been feeling a nudge toward something more—more growth, more clarity, more connection—you don’t have to have it all figured out to take a step. She Leads Church is such a beautiful space to be encouraged, equipped, and reminded that you’re not walking this journey alone. If it’s been on your heart… consider this your sign to say yes. 💛 www.sheleadschurch.com
